The working title is set. The manuscript is not. This collection is being written now — accumulated in margins, revised at odd hours, nowhere near done.
Early fragments
What wakes before the house does — the particular silence of 4 a.m., how it holds its breath the same in every city I have lived in.
I keep a list of things that don't have names yet. The list is longer than the poems. That's where I am.
These are working lines, not finished poems. They exist here as proof of direction — not declaration.
